He's the #recoveryposse OG (at least as far as I'm concerned), not only was he an early guest on the Since Right Now Podcast, he graciously contributed two compositions (from his album Last Man Standing) to serve as the indispensable intro and outro for the show, he worked tirelessly to produce substance-free raves under the Raveclean banner—Jon/DJFM is a legit recovery warrior.
Now Jon shares more with the recovery community. Two standout answers to consider as you read: Another relapse and No one.

My idea of misery. Another relapse, and/or another trip to rehab.
My greatest regret. That my drinking and using skyrocketed during the time when I had the best chance (not guaranteed, of course) of breaking into the music business.
My proudest moment. The release of my first CD, Breakup, in 1998.
Other than myself, who would I like to be? No one.

My hero(es). For better or worse, my parents.
My favorite food and drink. A damn good bacon cheeseburger and fries, Monster Lo-carb
My drug of (lack of) choice when I was using. Alcohol and/or GBL (a little-known prodrug of GHB, which I obtained online) were my everyday buzz, with MDMA/Ecstasy being my favorite drug, period.
What I hate most of all. Racism/homophobia.
The natural talent I'd like to be gifted with. Dance.
How I want to die. Sober, at peace, surrounded by loved ones.
My present state of mind. Utterly content and calm.
